Dunkeld House Hotel Suites

Discipline: Architecture
Location: Dunkeld, Perthshire
Date: 2022

Our Mission

GLM were appointed by Dunkeld House Hotel to remodel the building and add three bedroom suites, in turn enhancing their luxury hotel offering.

Dunkeld House Hotel is a long-standing client of GLM. In 2022, we were instructed by the new owners of Dunkeld House Hotel to masterplan the destination.

With a focus on improving the guest experience, and creating a consistent luxury feel, the management turned their attention to upgrading the hotel’s suites. Whilst exploring the options for new suites, GLM identified an opportunity in the ‘Old Wing’ of the listed building to add three suites and in turn, relocate the function suite.

With our oversight of the destination as a whole, GLM were able to plan for a purpose-built function suite elsewhere, which would improve the quality of facilities on offer at Dunkeld House Hotel.

For the bedroom suites project, GLM provided architectural drawings of the remodeling, and obtained statutory consents including listed building consent. Upon approval being granted, the works were undertaken without disruption to the operation of the hotel

Dunkeld House Hotel remained open to guests, and with ongoing health and safety advice from GLM, the client was able to ensure the safety of guests and contractors whilst the improvements were ongoing.

The completed suites are inspired by the hotel’s surroundings incorporating seasonal tones, the River Tay and natural elements. The design of the suites was led by interiors specialists, Burns Design.
