Our Mission

Castlecraig Cabins are an agritourism diversification in Easter Ross, Highland. The development included a masterplan for luxury tourist accommodation pods and future access to historic monuments on the farm.

Sitting proudly on the North Sutor high above the Cromarty Firth is Castlecraig Farm. A mixed-use organic farm owned by the Whiteford family.

In 2020, the family approached GLM with a vision of diversifying and bringing visitors to Nigg, making the most of their historic site and breathtaking views across Ross-Shire and Moray.

GLM conducted a masterplan for the wider site which included future access to the historic world war one and two batteries, complimented by a development of eleven luxury pods sited across the hill and clifftop echoing the historic concrete defensive structures.

The full scheme was approved by the Highland Council.

GLM masterplanned the site to maximise the views from each cabin without compromising on privacy, as such, guests can enjoy their surroundings without feeling on top of each other.

The initial phase of the development was completed in Summer 2021, with the installation of four prefabricated cabins. Further phases will introduce more customised container style interventions in the landscape.

The pods were carefully selected to give guests a true sense of comfort and luxury, as such they include an outdoor hot tub, which is perfect for star-gazing and dolphin spotting! The Whiteford family have enjoyed several successful seasons with guests coming to Castlecraig time again, never tiring of this incredible site and its views!
