Loch an Eilein Cottage

Location: Rothiemurcus

Loch an Eilein cottage is a traditional stone built cottage situated on the west side of Loch an Eilein, nestled in a beautiful setting in Cairngorm National Park. The perfect location for a Scottish Highland getaway.

The client’s brief was simple – design an interior layout that would sensitively convert the existing cottage into luxury self-catering lodging. Conceptually, the design needed to maximise light, create an authentic Highland atmosphere and bring the outside in, acknowledging the specialrelationship between nature and people that the Rothiemurcus Highland Estate is known for.

With this in mind, our architects designed a layout that focused on the interplay between space, light and height. The open-plan living room/kitchen is spacious but still intimate. The double bedroom is warm and luxurious. Other amenities include a bright ensuite bathroom with both a bath and shower and a peaceful sit-out-erie off the bedroom. The finished product is stunning.

It is perfect for couples seeking exceptional self-catering accommodation in a peaceful setting with the added bonus of the many outdoor activities on offer such as hill walking, trekking, skiing, mountain biking and fishing. Visit the Loch an Eilein website to learn more about the cottage and book yourself a holiday at this Scottish Highland paradise.
