Belgrave Crescent

Discipline: Architecture
Location: Edinburgh

Our Mission

Belgrave Crescent has been lovingly restored, creating a luxurious home away from home. GLM worked closely with the client and consultants to bring this listed apartment back to life, incorporating historic elements whilst making it fit for modern living.

Belgrave Crescent is a home away from home; comfortable, elegant and completely unparalleled.

The grade B listed property in Edinburgh’s New Town was fully refurbished and sensitively reimagined to meet the needs of an American client as their second home.

GLM provided architectural design services to the project, working alongside: interior designers, Jeffreys Interiors; main contractor, BANN; Building Services Engineers, Survey, Design, Consult; and Structural Engineers, McColls Associates.

As a result, attention to detail is in abundance and clever design features, such as hidden storage, bespoke cabinetry and design details from their US home have transformed the property into more than just a holiday home, but a place to visit, relax and stay. Conservation was a critical theme throughout the restoration, with the design team taking a considered and careful approach, and retrofitting where possible
