Brief and Response
Lunga House is a large listed country house in Argyllshire occupied partly as a family home and partly as holiday accommodation, in effect a country house hotel. In 2004 it suffered a devastating fire which resulted in extensive damage to the roof and to the interior.
As it is in a relatively remote location and the means of escape arrangements could not be made fully compliant, in reinstating the building a fire suppression system was fitted. The fire provided an opportunity to improve the layout of the house and to include
additional bathrooms. The cost of the improvements were kept separate from the fire reinstatement works and the split agreed with the Loss Adjusters.
