GLM receives planning consent for Highland Forest Hideouts

GLM have received planning permission for the careful siting of self-catering cabins in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park.

Our client, The Abernethy Trust, are based in Nethy Bridge and provide outdoor learning and activities for children, families and groups. Following a desire to diversify their accommodation options, the Trust came to GLM to devise a scheme for quality self-catering cabins situated in the woodland.

The development includes six accommodation pods, including an accessible pod, which are each suitable for a couple or single occupants. With their own cooking facilities and showers, the pods are not only functional but fun, and give guests an opportunity to ‘live’ in the outdoors. Also encompassed within the site will be a communal facility with washrooms and laundry services, and a separate instructors pod which will act as a gathering space for visitors and camping enthusiasts alike.

Visitors to the Nethy Bridge facility will now get to stay and play in the outdoors, enjoying the wealth of outdoor activities and opportunities in the area before going home to a cosy cabin, nestled in the woodlands.
