Neil McAllister Elevated to Associate Director of GLM
GLM is delighted to announce that Neil McAllister has been elevated to Associate Director of the firm. Neil has been with GLM since 2008 when he came on board as an experienced architect looking for a firm to guide him through the qualification process. Since joining GLM and gaining chartered status in 2009, Neil has worked on a range of projects on listed buildings, including interior interventions, repair and restoration in addition to a wide range of conservation projects.
In 2011 Neil surprised and delighted all concerned with his imaginative scheme for the restoration and extension of the Inn at John O’Groats – perhaps his most well-known project. The Inn went on to win numerous design awards including two RIAS Awards, a Scottish Design Award for Regeneration and a shortlisting and special mention in the Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award.
In his nearly seven years at GLM, Neil has established himself as the creative force behind many of our projects. We are thrilled to acknowledge him as a key player in our architecture department and overall operations as a whole. We look forward to seeing what his direction will bring to an already thriving team.
Neil will be speaking at our upcoming seminar, Grand Designs Not Grand Disasters, on the design process and what inspires him when he is developing the perfect brief for our clients. It’s a can’t-miss opportunity to learn from an expert in the field. Contact Suzanne Dicken if you would like to attend.
