John O’Groats Named one of Scotland’s ‘Coolest’ Holiday Destinations
Staying power is a signature component of GLM’s designs and developments and there is no better example than John O’Groats. After completing the £7.2 million development in 2013, it is clear that GLM’s masterplan to redevelop the site and design and build a new extension to the John O’Groats house hotel has captivated the country and reinvigorated tourism at Scotland’s northernmost tip. Earlier this month the global travel website Coolstays named John O’Groats as one of Scotland’s coolest holiday destinations and the news was subsequently picked up by the Scotsman.
The Scotman says, “The site urges travellers to explore the ‘unspoilt and tiny hamlet’ and John O’Groats and recommends heading to the remote corner of Caithness for ‘its pretty white sandy beaches, sparkling clear blue waters, rugged rocky cliffs and dark woods.'” Indeed, the redevelopment of John O’Groats offers a comfortable and luxurious stay that is immersed in the stunning and wild nature of the area.
