James Taylor Elevated to Professional Member of the RICS
GLM are very pleased to announce today that James Taylor was elevated to the status of professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) having successfully passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
James initially joined GLM as an undergraduate in 2008 working to gain practical experience while he studied at Heriot Watt University. On graduation in 2010 he joined the GLM Team full time and has since work in all the varied divisions of the business from core building surveying work such as due diligence, legislative compliance and landlord and tenant, to project work for our portfolio of independent schools. In our Hotel, Leisure & Tourism division, James has been instrumental in delivering the John O’ Groats regeneration project and is now doing likewise on the North Yorkshire Moors project.
During his time as a trainee, James has amassed significant knowledge and a growing expertise in the management of complex contractual situations arising from the use of alternative procurement strategies such as Construction Management which the firm has found to be an ideal route to successful delivery of regeneration projects in the current economic climate.
At a time when some graduates are finding it very difficult to find fulfilling and relevant experience, James has displayed great tenacity and staying power to grasp the opportunities presented to him and from them extract the professional experience necessary to make this transition.
We are particularly pleased that James joins a growing list of graduate trainees presented by GLM for professional assessment who have passed at the first attempt, maintaining our 100% pass record!
