GLM delighted to sponsor 2020’s Helping It Happen Awards

The Helping it Happen Awards, organised by Scottish Land and Estates, seeks to celebrate rural Scotland and those who are helping it thrive through sharing and recognising good news stories from up and down the country,  both big and small.

GLM are delighted to be the headline sponsor of these awards in what has been an unusual and challenging year, particularly for rural Scotland. Whether it’s through providing affordable rural housing, supporting local businesses, or working with schools to support rural skills, Helping It Happen highlights the achievements of forward-looking businesses who are making a real difference. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support this celebration of success.

Ian McKee, Managing Director at GLM, said : “Telling stories and celebrating all that is going on across rural Scotland is key to motivating and inspiring others to support, visit and encourage the activity. It is a privilege to support these awards and celebrate the extensive innovation, conservation and resilience shown particularly in the last few months thorough the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Alongside our headline sponsorship we are delighted to be supporting the fully revamped ‘Community Champion of the Year’ category and look forward to hearing the stories from those who have gone above and beyond.

“We look forward to celebrating all of this with you through the virtual event later on in the year.”

Nominations are open so it’s time to get your thinking caps on : Have you gone the extra mile to help your community during lockdown? Did you diversify your business in 2019 in an innovative way?  Are you doing fantastic innovative work on your farm, or perhaps some really important work in conservation, the environment or educating children about rural Scotland? If you can answer yes to any of these, you should enter the national Helping it Happen Awards – or nominate someone else! (It’s free!) A family member, employee, colleague or neighbour could all be worthy of an accolade.
