GLM delighted to Sponsor 2019’s Helping it Happen Tourism Award

The Helping it Happen Awards, organised by Scottish Land and Estates seeks to celebrate rural Scotland and those who are helping it thrive through the sharing, and recognition, of good news stories from up and down the country,  both big and small. GLM are delighted to sponsor the tourism category and to be part of the celebration of Scottish Tourism, those who are doing things differently, welcoming visitors to their home or land and opening doors for locals and visitors to make the most of rural Scotland.

Ian McKee, Managing Director at GLM, said : “Tourism is an increasingly essential part of the success story of rural Scotland.  We’ve seen a great transition from the dowdy and unimaginative visitor offering to the current crop of exciting, sustainable and world-leading destinations keeping Scotland firmly at the top of the world’s bucket-lists.

As passionate users and promoters of tourism and the great Scottish outdoors we bring decades of architectural, building surveying and project management experience to the challenge of creating economic and environmentally sustainable rural regeneration and diversification.

We’re very proud to sponsor this award which highlights and rewards the best of Scottish rural tourism.

With just under a week left for nominations to be submitted its time to get your thinking caps on : Do you know a farm, rural business or estate who are doing things a little different, taking a new approach and helping their local community thrive? Has a local estate, farm or rural business near you made a positive contribution to your area, perhaps providing affordable, warm housing? Is there an innovative, diverse or even quirky rural business near you which is providing jobs and tourism in your community?

Helping it Happen are seeking nominations across 9 diverse categories:
