GLM delighted to announce appointment of Aythan Lewes as Director

Edinburgh-based Architects and Building Surveyors GLM have appointed Aythan Lewes as Director. GLM bring sharp insight, imaginative design and effective implementation to the creation, reuse and adaptation of buildings. Since 1996 GLM have been supporting clients across the domestic residential, commercial, rural, and public sectors.

In his role Aythan will be responsible for the further development of GLM’s relationships with all sectors, though will focus on commercial and institutional clients. As a Building Surveyor and Project Manager Aythan will champion these service lines, supported by the senior staff in the wider team. He will also take on the role of Commercial Director, keeping focus on GLM’s delivery to client requirements.

Aythan brings over twelve years of experience to the role. Having started with GLM in 2006 and chartered in 2009 Aythan spent nearly four years working for a multi-national consultancy in Ireland leading their Building Surveying team. Aythan’s experience is extremely broadly based, ranging from residential refurbishments, work with developers, boutique hotels, retail as well as blue chip commercial work having project managed the fit out of JP Morgan’s Irish Headquarters in Dublin and the fit out of several offices for EY across the island of Ireland, amongst many others. His Building Surveying work encompasses exercises for the Scottish Government, Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, Trinity College Dublin, as well as many private clients across both commercial and domestic property. His specialisms include latent defects consultancy, project management, stock condition surveys, defect diagnosis and rectification and design team leadership.
