GLM Commissioned to Transform Port Edgar Marina

We are delighted to announce our involvement in the redevelopment of iconic Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry. Working with operators Port Edgar Holdings, GLM has been appointed to design and deliver The Hub – a new facility hosting a restaurant, visitor’s centre and the marina’s yacht club – and to redevelop the existing buildings at Port Edgar into an improved retail offering.

Ian McKee, Managing Director of GLM, said: “The redevelopment of iconic Port Edgar is a landmark project for the area. We are relishing the opportunity to use our leisure sector expertise to make this wonderfully historical asset a world-class leisure destination for the 21st century.”

Lying between the Forth Road Bridge and the new Queensferry Crossing, Port Edgar has berths for around 300 boats and is home to a yacht club, a rowing club, a water sports centre and several cruise boat operators.

Russell Aitken, Managing Director at Port Edgar Marina, said: “We’re making sure that Port Edgar has an exciting future ahead of it by building The Hub and opening this new restaurant and visitors’ centre.

“By having facilities such as this, we’re opening up the marina to a much wider audience, so that visitors can enjoy the spectacular views across the Firth of Forth that myself and other sailors have done for so many years.”

GLM has been working closely since March with Port Edgar Holdings to redevelop the site, which is estimated for completion in late 2016. To find out more about Port Edgar Marina and this exciting development, visit the website.
