We are seeking a project-focused Building Surveyor to join our Edinburgh team to take on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects. This role will see you work on some on the country’s most significant buildings, working alongside a mature architectural design team, and across the residential, commercial and public sectors.
You should be either MRICS qualified with 3+ years’ experience, or with 5+ years industry experience and looking to achieve chartered status. In either case, you should have significant demonstrable experience with project delivery and administering building contracts. You should be able to quickly build rapport with clients and contractors alike, possess good communication skills, and be task focused, organised, methodical and driven. Good prioritisation is a must. Additionally, you should have excellent MS Office skills.
As a key member of a dynamic team you will:
- Develop tender packs, including writing descriptions/schedules of work
- Procure works
- Cost management pre and post contract
- Let and administer contracts
- Oversee works
- Conclude site phase and hand over
- Carry out core building surveying tasks such as condition surveys and reports, PPM schedules, maintenance plans and dilapidations.
Salary between £40k-£45k dependent on experience.
