GLM APPOINTS PIERRE PUYRIGAUD AS HEAD OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

GLM is delighted to welcome Pierre Puyrigaud as our new Head of Project Management. As a highly experienced senior property professional with a background in strategic planning, property development and financial modelling, Pierre will develop, grow and lead GLM’s project and construction management team.

With a degree in civil and urban engineering, a masters in structural engineering from Heriot Watt, an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and a Prince2 certification, Pierre brings a wealth of skills and expertise to GLM’s service offering.

Pierre began his career as a construction manager in France and Indonesia before moving to the UK where he became a property developer. Appointed a board director of Applecross Property, the award-winning Edinburgh residential developer, he took charge of Pre-Production (feasibility studies, land acquisition, design) and assumed P&L responsibility for large JV projects totalling £200m between them.

He was responsible for financial modelling, and led on continuous improvement by deploying Lean (Toyota) principles across the business. Pierre revolutionised Applecross pre-production process – halving its duration – by creating a collaborative one-room environment and pioneering the utilisation of 5D modelling technology (BIM) in Scotland.

After spending five years in the offshore renewables sector where he developed his strategic relationship and stakeholder management expertise, Pierre came back to property as an independent property consultant before joining GLM.

Ian McKee, Managing Director of GLM, had this to say about the appointment: “Following the success of John O’Groats, the demand for GLM’s project and construction management capabilities has increased. Although GLM has always offered project management services, appointing a department head with this level of knowledge and expertise will enable us to develop a competitive offering equal to our building surveying and architectural capabilities. It is an exciting time for GLM.”
