Union Street

Seven Hills Property Limited

Brief and Response

Historic Environment Scotland very much welcomed the principal of returning the Category B-listed office space on Union Street to 3 residential units when it was proposed by Seven Hills Property. Seven Hills Property Limited appointed GLM to sensitively design and project manage the development retaining the historic fabric where possible. Interiors of these houses display fine surviving decorative

schemes which were probably designed in 1804-6 by Robert Adam’s assistant Hugh Cairncross. Original stone flags on the ground floor have been uncovered and restored and the stone stairs connecting Ground and Lower Ground were left intact and floored over. The conversion includes a 3-bed ground floor flat, a 2-bed lower ground floor flat and a 1-bed also situated on the lower ground floor.

All the properties have the high-quality finish expected from a Seven Hills Property development with new kitchens and bathrooms throughout. They are currently (May 2017) on the market with Rettie & Co. Contractor : True Build Photo Credit : Square Foot Media
